Tips for a Successful Retail Fitout

With large property companies now focusing on ensuring retail precincts are vibrant, engaging and keep shoppers there longer, the importance of having a great fitout for your store has never been so important. Here we share some of our tips to consider when planning your fitout!
- Aisle Space – even though space can be limited, try and make sure that the aisles are wide enough for shoppers to walk, including parents with prams. Nothing worse than trying to squeeze through tight aisles! This also allows for adequate space for people in these covid-era times, and physically distancing requirements.
- Adequate counter space – consider your customer making payment. They could be juggling bags, handbags, children, having enough space for a customer to make their purchase will create a more relaxed atmosphere for both staff and customers.
- Keep it flexible! When designing your store layout, future proof it so that the aisles and fixtures can be easily changed / moved without needing a complete refit.
- Focus on lighting. We know that everything looks better with the right lighting! LED lighting is a great way to ensure the ambience of your store is right, while saving money and electricity costs. Make sure to not forget lighting design when planning your retail fitout.
- Consider seating. Depending on what your store sells, planning and implementing seating can have it’s benefits. Seating can provide an opportunity for people to have a quick break in your store, or let the some of the family sit while others are browsing. Seating generally means people stay in your store for longer, meaning more change of spending.
