The team at Bushells Building and Maintenance works closely with many commercial retail property groups across Perth. Our team recently undertook a ceiling replacement following some air-conditioning works at Garden City in Booragoon – within the David Jones tenancy.
The work completed encompassed the following:
Initial works: Make safe the ceiling with acrow props
Following the make safe, our team undertook a ceiling replacement via small access that would not allow for standard plasterboard size.
Scope of work for this included:
- Electrician to disconnect 1 x light and reconnect thereafter
- Removal and disposal of damaged ceiling
- Supply and installation of the required timber framework
- Supply and install of the gyprock ceiling tiles (1200mm x 600mm) due to difficult access into the room
- To supply and install timber batten to cover all joins
The works needling to be done, were due to a collapsed ceiling in a roof plant room where the access into the plant room was through a series of extremely small doors. This meant that the team had to use smaller than standard building materials to complete the works as larger products would simply not fit.
Despite some challenges with the space, our team produced a great structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing ceiling.
